About me
Chris grew up in Perth, Western Australia and has been involved in sport for most of his life. Early on, Chris knew he wanted to help people achieve optimal health and performance.
He started out his career as a personal trainer running his own business at the ripe old age of 18 years. A couple of years later his thirst for knowledge grew and he enrolled in a Bachelor of Science (Exercise & Sports Science) degree at Edith Cowan University. After completing his undergraduate, he undertook a Masters in Nutrition & Dietetics and became an Accredited Practising Dietitian (APD) in 2013.
Given his passion for both food and sport, it was only natural he continued with further study and became an Accredited Sports Dietitian (AccSD). After gaining experience in clinical dietetics, private practice and, the sports nutrition industry in Perth, Chris was successful in securing the prestigious sports nutrition fellowship at the Australian Institute of Sport (AIS) in Canberra and relocated in early 2016.
The AIS provided Chris with a wealth of experiences and opportunities in high performance sport. He was the Australian team sports dietitian for the 2016 IAAF U20 World Athletics Championships in Bydgoszcz, Poland. He led the development, training and implementation of best practice protocols in sweat sodium collection and field-based analysis using a portable analyser and became a co-author. During his fellowship, he also completed the post-graduate Diploma in Sports Nutrition from the International Olympic Committee (IOC).
He has worked with Australian Olympic, Paralympic and Commonwealth Games medallists, with experience in both individual and team based sports at the AIS and the Victorian Institute of Sport (VIS).
Chris is a current director of the board at Sports Dietitians Australia (SDA), the national membership organisation representing sports dietitians in Australia. He currently works as a Specialist Representative for Enteral Nutrition at Fresenius Kabi Australia Pty Limited in Melbourne, Victoria.
